Beginners
Duration: 2 dives over 1 day
A Real Scuba Diving experience.
1 pool or shallow water (dockside) lesson and 1 shallow ocean dive.

The centre has a decompression chamber and a doctor specialised in problems related to Scuba diving.
2 catamarans, 10 and 12 metres (42 ft) specially equipped for diving
Lockers for your personal equipment (bring a padlock).
Situation: Caribbean Sea.
Exceptional flora and fauna in an environment of vertical dropoffs, canyons and coral heads. You’ll spot barracuda, groupers – including the famous Nassau grouper -, triggerfish, turtles, hammer and reef sharks.
San Salvador has a multitude of diving sites for all levels, from beginner to experienced diver. You’ll appreciate the beautifully preserved coral reef, water at an average temperature of 27°C, exceptional visibility (beyond 30 m / 100 ft in many cases) and a fascinating variety of underwater life on an impressive drop-off that surrounds San Salvador. The San Salvador sites are within a protected marine area.

You must not be suffering from any health condition that may be aggravated by diving.
In accordance with PADI procedure, you must fill in a medical questionnaire (self-evaluation), in order to judge that you are fit to Scuba dive. Depending on your answers, you may be required to consult a doctor on site. The doctor’s decision re your fitness to dive or not will be final.
Minors must have written authorization from their parents.
Club Med safety rules (PADI certified schools) require you to cease Scuba diving a minimum of 18 hours before your return flight.
For all diving diplomas above CMAS 1 Star or equivalent, you’ll be required to show a medical certificate stating that you are fit to dive, issued by a doctor specialized in problems related to Scuba diving or hyperbaric medicine or affiliated to a diving federation. The certificate must be less than 12 months old.
At last, the head of the diving activity will decide whether a refresher dive is necessary (includes a reminder of instructions, technique and safety regulations) before the start of the advanced independent or accompanied diving packages (depending on level, dive logbook, etc).
His decision will be final, the refresher dive is included in the price of the package.
Don’t forget to take your dive log book and any certificates you have!
Supervision:
Instruction by qualified PADI instructors or equivalent.
Equipment rental:
Possibility to rent a computer dive and/or diving equipment when it’s not included in the package.

Snorkeling is the best way for the inexperienced ocean swimmer to become acquainted with the stunning beauty of San Salvador reefs.
The G.O.s at Club Med will direct you to the finest spots. During your adventure, get ready to view unique ocean life (such as bonefish, barracuda, and the spotted eagle ray), and coral clusters.
Club Med will take you on one of the diving boats out to the coral reefs to see the vivid marine life. However, if you want to venture out on your own, just head to the water from the beach at your hotel or any public beach.
The resort offers equipment (snorkel, mask, fins and snorkel and life jacket) and can book you onto a snorkel tour to sites further off shore.
Group lessons for all levels (age and date restrictions may apply)
The indescribable blue of the lagoon makes it a natural pool for swimming. Dive in. You’ll take a boat to a dedicated spot where the underwater nature is utterly unspoiled. A mask, a snorkel, flippers: once you have your equipment, you can meander across the surface of the turquoise waters. Gaze at the multicoloured tropical fish and coral reefs.

Learn to windsurf or progress with group lessons. Expert G.O®s welcome adults and children from the age of 8. Young and old can benefit from a board and a sail adapted to the size and level of each. Let yourself be lulled by the Caribbean Sea and let yourself be free on the crest of the waves.

The treasure island is also that of discoveries. Take off and explore the lagoon. 14 to 16 foot catamarans await you to learn to sail. Supervised and advised by your G.O®s, you can maneuver safely and let yourself slide on the waves, pushed by the wind.

In just a few days, you can learn how to sail safely and enjoy having the wind in your sails!
Teaching and practice: recognising and controlling winds, manoeuvring a boat alone or as part of a team, managing speed…

Leave behind the bougainvillea-strewn gardens and walk down to the beautiful sandy beach. Try waterskiing or wakeboarding at the pontoon. We’ve thought of everything. In the summer, we even have a time slot reserved just for Junior Club Med. Your children can have fun and learn new skills in a dedicated session.
